PROVIDING support & educational opportunities for volunteer leaders & nonprofits
The HIHO Education Dept. (HIHOED) was formed to address the need for educational opportunities and support for volunteer leaders and nonprofits. Most nonprofits are unable to afford a dedicated staff member whose sole job is to lead volunteers. This void creates huge gaps in the quality of service nonprofits provide and ultimately tarnishes a volunteer's experience. HIHOED was established to help fill in some of those gaps by providing consultations, audits, event coordination, networking and educational opportunities.
Our Services
CONSULTATIONS
Consultations are open to any organization wanting to build or maintain a volunteer program. Fee for service assistance can be provided to organizations in the form of a volunteer program audit or a one time special event coordination. Because each organization has it's own unique needs, cost and services will vary on a case by case basis. An initial assessment meeting is free to all qualifying Hawaii based 501(c)3 nonprofits. SPEAKER SESSIONS
A quarterly speaker session curated by the HIHO Education Dept. that focuses around volunteerism and nonprofits. Speakers volunteer to give talks on various aspects of service and each session lasts for about an hour. Speakers sessions are free to all but require an RSVP to attend. If you would like to be invited to speak, please contact us by filling out a form. Speaker Sessions will begin in 2019.
HIHO FELLOWS
The HIHO Fellows is an eight week course offered to those in the field of Volunteer Leadership. Our goal is to not only develop those who lead and inspire volunteers but to also create a network of support for volunteer leaders.
NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
Get to know your fellow peers by joining our network. We offer a variety of networking opportunities that range from very social to constructive networking. Get to know what your fellow volunteers leaders are doing in their respective fields and learn (or teach) something new. All Volunteer Leaders are welcome to join us.
